Camps

In our camps, students participate in different teamwork activities that inspire them through action and challenges to develop and strengthen the following abilities:

IDENTITY

Understanding that we are unique in our strengths and limitations helps us to develop a safety zone that is not easily shaken by external forces.

“OUR TALENTS ARE A GIFT FROM GOD …. THE THINGS WE DO WITH OUR TALENTS ARE OUR GIFT TO GOD ” – Leo Buscaglia

DISCPLINE

Campers will take personal responsibility for continuous self-development:

Time Management Skills:

They will learn to estimate the time required to complete a task and improve their planning and organization skills.

Goal setting:

As part of the self-development plan, campers will also learn to set goals. If they learn how to do this, they will know where they want to go in school and what they have to concentrate on. Goal setting originates a driving force that leads every action towards that direction.

“A goal properly set is halfway reached.” – Zig Ziglar

GROWTH MINDSET

Campers will also learn that the most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work; brains and talents are just the starting point. As campers interact with their CI Coaches, they will learn clear and specific strategies to move from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset, the mind that increases the chances of success.

“I don’t divide the world into the weak and the strong ones, into the successes or the failures, I divide the world into learners and non-learners” Benjamin Barber

COURAGE AND CREATIVITY:

Campers will also engage in lots of games that will raise their courage and confidence to think outside the box. This ability is a very important life skill that develops practical intelligence to boost imagination and grow a divergent mind. This means that the mind gets trained to focus on the positive side, convinced that there is always a “way out”.

“The best way to have a good idea is to have a lot of ideas.”-  Dr. Linus Pauling

PROSOCIAL BEHAVIOUR through Service Learning.

Service-learning improves student academic outcomes as demonstrated through complexity of understanding, problem analysis, critical thinking, and cognitive development. It also enhances student personal development such as sense of personal efficacy, personal identity, spiritual growth, and moral development.

Service-learning increases commitment to service.

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” -Mohandas K. Gandhi

SOCIAL SKILLS AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE:

Campers will face different situations, challenges, and hands-on activities that will help them gain social skills that every leader should have. All this will happen while they are having a lot of fun.

“There is no question that children with better social skills have a significant advantage in life. They not only experience the rewards of positive relationships, but they do better in school, have a better self-image, and in general, are much more resilient as they face life’s inevitable challenges.” – Laurence Shapiro

“If you are tuned out of your own emotions, you will be very poor at reading them in other people” -Daniel Golemann
